I'm a little teapot...

...and I am getting all steamed up. One more marathon call (at 12 cents a minute, mind you--EURO cents!) to the customer service center, staffed by jerkneck turkeys all, to inquire politely as to WHY they did not deliver the suitcases AS PROMISED by noon. Well, there had been some problems, but now they are loaded into the truck and should be there sometime after 4:00 pm. Have a nice day...Wait!! Well that is just fine and dandy, but the office they are now supposed to be delivered to CLOSES at 4:30! So excuse me if I don't hang up like a placated little customer. No, I would like you please to tell the driver that he must deliver my suitcases by 4:30 pm please. That's impossible? You mean there is NO way to communicate with the driver? I don't believe that. May I please talk to someone who can think outside the box? Hello, Someone? Can you tell the driver... oh, you're talking to him now? Yes, please do, and then call me back. Thank you. Oh, they will be delivered by 4:30? Thank you.

Shall we count the number of times I have been lied to by customer service representatives of DHL?
"They will call before they come."
"Yes, we have written in the file that you don't get home from work until 5 pm."
"Yes, I will put in that order for you."
"The suitcases will be delivered tomorrow between 17:00 and 22:00."
"We will call you if there is a problem."
"So sorry, Ms. Nipp. They will definitely be there tomorrow morning. You have my word."
"Sorry, it is impossible to contact the driver."

I don't like being lied to. I didn't lie to them, even though I was sorely tempted. Shouldn't honesty be reciprocal???

Matt Bode? He should have been at seminary my first year, which would have been his senior year, but he went to Union. Although he did live near one of my friends from college while he was there at Union, and I met him when he came to graduation.
Heather Simpson? Yes, I know Heather. She used to live upstairs and down the hall from me.
Liz Albertson? One of my bestest friends at seminary. She's on internship at a ritzy suburb of Atlanta now.
Ben Larson? I've met him, and worked the ropes course at seminary with him, but don't know him entirely all that well.
Okay, here's more Wartburg people that I go to seminary with:
Nathan Liedtke (and his wife Kerrie) - another one of my bestest friends at seminary
Ali Boomershine - She graduated '01, and I'm not sure when you graduated, so she might be after your time?
Sally Mitchell - Graduated same time as Ali...
I'm trying to think of other people I know, but that might be it. Thanks for all the comments on my blog!
