Ab ins Becken!

I just watched a really cool show on TV. It was a gimmick show, and in a way also reality TV, but surprisingly good nonetheless. It was a celebrity diving competition--from the 3-meter springboard, in an Olympic-caliber pool with Olympic-caliber judges and weeks of training. Some of the dives were impressive in a rather painful and red-backed sort of way, but some of those singers, comedians, Playboy bunnies (no joke-- Miss February and Miss May) and hockey players really showed some impressive stuff. Especially noteworthy were the German pole vaulters Lars Boergeling and Tim Lobinger, whose synchronized 1-1/2 somersaulting something-or-other pike was just plain eye candy, and cute little Lucy from No Angels, who won the gold medal in mixed singles (beating all the men), and, when they tried to play the Bulgarian national anthem, politely told them they had the wrong one (but the right flag), and proceeded to sing the right one, to the absolute delight of the crowd.
All in all, quite a pleasant accompaniment to my latest Christmas basteln.

Nope, nothing as interesting as that. "Basteln" just means arts and crafts. :-)
