Know what’s awesome? When work is fun.
For example, when I get to call up someone I know and like, and say “Hey, can I come take you out for lunch sometime?” and she answers not only “Sure! Sounds like fun!” but also “and while we’re at it I can tell you all sorts of important insider stuff and introduce you to some awesome people who will make your life much easier.” Thanks, Amused. :-)
I heart my new job. (Most of the time.)
Know what else is awesome? One of my roommates just gave notice at the job that has been slowly sucking out his soul. It was pretty awful to watch the downward spiral - sometimes empathy is hard - and I’m very happy for him that he can start to feel like a real person again. Yay.
