This definitely deserves a blog post. I'm not sure what I'm saying yet, but it definitely deserves a post.
I heard David Sedaris speak tonight!
If you're like most of the other people I've told this to, your immediate reaction was one of two: either something involving lolling tongues and consumptive green-eyed envy, or a blank-eyed "Who's David Sedaris?"
I heard him speak - well, read and speak - and it was all I'd hoped it would be. As amazing as he is on paper, he's equally hilarious and relaxed and just cynical enough in person. He made me laugh. A lot. Plus, he made me feel like an actual person of culture who could buy tickets to a show, go to the show, enjoy every single minute of the show, and talk ceaselessly about the show afterwards.
It was an amazing show. I wish I had written down all of those incisive one-liners. And there are a couple of mental images that were so very vivid that I kind of wish that I could get them out of my head.
I want to go again!

David Sedaris!! Picture me in the consupmtive-green-eyed-envy group. I have one of his books, and "Me Talk Pretty One Day" is one of my favorite books...because it is 100% true. So jealous!
PS- I realized the other day that I still have two of your HP books in German...do you want them back at some point? ;-)
Oh, man ... I am so totally jealous as well. :-)
Who knew that it was so darn much fun to inspire envy amongst one's friends? :-)
