A meme (me! me!)

So I was tagged by Arabella to do this meme. I am not ashamed to admit that I don't get how the tagging procedures work... so I will just skip that part and answer the questions.

What were you doing 10 years ago?
- Still majoring in Biology/Pre-med, though beginning to suspect it wasn't my calling after all. Taking my first Religion class... which turned out to be a Really Good Thing.
- Living in an "interesting" suite (the one right before the one where we all totally loved each other and became living rays of sunshine for the world - that next one became another one of the Best Things that happened to me at college).
- Leading (badly, in retrospect) an outreach team that turned out to be yet another Really Awesome Thing that happened in college. It gave me new awesome friends and made me decide to work at camp.

What were you doing a year ago?
- Rueing the day I decided to take this stupid job in the first place.
- Hanging out with Heather.

5 snacks you enjoy?
- Hmm... I would say jalapenos stuffed with goat cheese tops the list. Yum.
- Then we have the category of "unattainable" (due to unavailable and/or ridiculously priced ingredients, or my own lack of baking apparatus). This includes things like chocolate chip cookies and rice krispy bars.
- I dunno... granola bars? Cut-up vegetables? Or fruit with that dip that's half cream cheese and half marshmallow fluff? Heavenly. I guess I like sweet more than salty, as a rule. Is that five?

5 songs you know all the lyrics to
- "If I Could", Chrisy and Johnny/Storyhill. One of the best love songs ever, and somehow it manages to avoid the depths of ultra-cheesiness.
- "It's Hard to Write a Love Song" by these friends of mine. Your classic unrequited-love song, with a twist.
- "Hallelujah," Rufus Wainwright. I first heard this on the Shrek soundtrack, and my then-roommates and I played it night and day until it started running through my veins. I am still not sure I really get all the lyrics, but it seems to fit some of my moods perfectly.
- There has to be an Indigo Girls song on here somewhere. There are so many that fit the criterion, but I will go with "Least Complicated" for now, because it seems to fit best.
- Only one more? OK. I'll go with... "The River," by Garth Brooks. Although this one has to come with the caveat that this is one of a precious few country songs that could have made it onto this list.

5 things you would do if you were a millionaire
- Go home.
- Stay there.
- Pay off my friends' student loans. I hate student loans.
- Support lovely non-profit organizations.
- Set up a study-abroad scholarship at my alma mater.

5 bad habits
- Saying too much, too fast.
- Not following through on stuff.
- Putting things down and forgetting where.
- Too much optimism. Sometimes you have to know when to stop hoping.
- I don't really feel like sharing these things with you people. Is that so wrong?

5 things I like doing
- Reading blogs
- Talking to people
- Rollerblading
- Learning new languages
- Meeting new people

I think "badly, in retrospect" is a little harsh. For the early part of the year when all that was required from you as a leader was a boundless supply of energy and enthusiasm you did sterling work. And later on when the whole thing collapsed around our ears you just hung on and went along for the ride. What an interesting thing that was. One of the six of us who read this regularly should blog about the experience sometime.

Also - gee, thanks. What's the twist?

Yep, those are my special talents: I am heedless! and clingy! Who knew that these would make for "sterling" leadership?

The twist? The whole premise! "I can't really write a love song, at least not yet," you say... and then proceed to slip one in, all sneaky-like. Sly. Like a fox. A besmitten fox. (And here is where the analogy starts to break down.)

Six? I only count five. Who am I forgetting?
