My outer life is as boring and predictable as ever.
It revolves around several (mostly-isolating) major activities: working too much, collapsing on the couch with a book in my hand, going to the gym or running outside, IMing, channel surfing, performing random cooking experiments. Curried carrot soup, anyone? That's all. The major social events that I look forward to are going out to dinner with program planners when their groups arrive in town. I never once thought that I would become this absolutely yawn-stiflingly boring.
But it appears my imagination is still alive.
In my dreams, at least, I have hobbies. And friends! Last night I was a regional unicycling phenomenon. Before that, I was on a round-the-world cruise. At one point I launched a campaign to lower international postage rates.
And then I wake up, and the yawn-worthy cycle starts over again.
There is some good news for my variety-hungry soul: sometime next week, the summer volunteers start trickling in! Of course due to various breakdowns in communication and despite my repeated inquiries, we don't know when they are actually arriving... but that will sort itself out in due time, I guess. Suffice it to say, there are FIVE people arriving here within the next six weeks or so who might want to hang out with me, at least temporarily, and that's five more than I have right now. Things are looking up.
And barring that, I'll just take up surfing or monster truck driving in my dreams. :-)
P.S. Countdown: 130!!!

Perhaps the unicycle dream is the universe's way of telling you that you really want to come visit me. You see, I actually have a nearly 10-foot unicycle in my garage right now (no joke)!
Jen -
