A T's take on love

So I'm watching Sleepless in Seattle (which is always good for a little rated-G love) and I come upon this lovely quote, David Hyde Pierce's character's take on love:

Annie: "Why did you get married? Was it all trumpets and fireworks?"
DHP: "I got married because Betsy said we had to break up or get married. So we got married."
Annie: "But when you first met her... did you believe that she was the only person for you, that in some mystical, cosmic way it was fated?"
DHP: "Annie, when you're attracted to someone, it just means that your subconscious is attracted to their subconscious... subconsciously. So what we think of as fate is just two neuroses knowing they're a perfect match."

Awwww, that's so romantic.

That IS a great quote... but I should tell you, it's David Hyde Pierce :)

Heto, thanks for catching that. I don't mind making a fool of myself in the comments section, but heck if I'm going to leave that blaring mistake right on the front page!

Somehow, ever since I lived in that neighborhood of Chicago, "Hyde" is forever associated with "Park" in my head.

Joannie... :-) I just figure that basically everyone who reads my blogs is as obsessed with Myers-Briggs as I am!

DHP will always make me smile and think of the Monty Python musical Spamalot, which is unquestionably the funniest thing I have ever seen (twice, and hopefully again this year!).

And thanks for the promo, I appreciate it!

He's GAY? Say what? I had no idea!

And I'm jealous of Angela, who's seen Spamalot - not once, but TWICE!, whereas I must console myself with the soundrack (which I love!).

Gay. Damn. Another one bites the dust.
