Meditations on uncertainty

I'm an ENFP. I love possibilities and brainstorming and spontaneity and long, long lists of options.

Normally.

It must be bad karma. Because now when my dearest wish is to narrow things down to one option apiece - one job, one house, one set of roommates - nothing is cooperating. Everything is uncertain. My job chances are somewhere between solid as a rock and trying to hold a moonbeam in my hand. It looks like I'm applying for four, all of which have insanely varying locations and payscales - from seriously not enough to live on to more than even I think I'm worth. (They all sound good, content-wise... that's the ENFP in me.)

Oh and another thing to add to that "narrow it down to one" list: one boyfriend. Not that I'm being overrun by male suitors, but, man, this internet dating thing, it's serious business. I put up a profile, mostly just out of curiosity, and now my inbox is swarming with The Good, The Bad and The Desperate. Luckily I am pretty good at distinguishing the three, and a few seem really, solidly good. I'm going to make the most of my 3-day free trial: wink and write and wink back and write back and see if, at the end of it, anyone crystallizes. I'll keep you updated, without giving away too many of the details. :-)

You know, I really thought they'd all be scared away - if not by the "professional church work" bit, then by the "5,000 miles away!!" or the "liberal politics" or the "European mentality." Or, you know... the pictures. But whoa. It's a lot of correspondence all at once.

A couple of them are pretty exciting.
