inconsequential pondering of the day

German squirrels are not brown, gray and omnipresent like midwestern ones. Eichhoernchen are more striking: either auburn with tufted ears and bushy tails, or elegant in anthracite. And they are few and far between. It's far more common to see a roly-poly hedgehog, a wandering mole, or a stork (perhaps coming back from its childbearing rounds?) than a squirrel around these parts. Consequently, there are fewer oak trees - or is it the other way around?

I wonder if the red squirrel in the tree outside my office window knows what a historically significant view his new nest will have? Will he still be alive in 2017, when Wittenberg celebrates the 500th anniversary of the Reformation with its new, completely renovated castle and courtyard?

Well. Back to work.

Heh. Only you would post about the theological ponderings of a squirrel.

Greetings to Steffi!!
