Last time I was sick, I went to a nice german doctor, who "prescribed" me a series of homeopathic medicines, as German doctors as wont to do. Inexplicably, there is a real skepticism here - both in popular opinion and in the medical field - against giving sick people harsh chemicals that mess with their already-shaky homeostasis. Go figure.
So I sucked on some white pills that dissolved in my mouth, and swallowed some green ones that didn't, and chewed on some little nonpareils that really just made me want to bake a cake... and eventually I got better. Which for me begs the question: but would I have gotten better anyway? Did the virus just run its course and retire, exhausted and triumphant, or did the pills and the tablets and the cake sprinkles actually strengthen Ye Olde Immune System in its virus-combatting endeavors?
Lately I am Our Lady of the Perpetual Headaches again. Allergy pills are not making a dent, nor is Advil, or chicken soup, or liter upon liter of orange juice. I really can't get sick this week, because the secretary already lost her voice, and Bosslady and Bossguy are in the throes of Movin' on Up to a Deluxe Apartment in the Sky and thus are also not here, making me literally the only one holding the place together. At least for a week or so. And there are appointments to be kept, programs to be bumped, insanely complicated contracts to be written. The show must go on and whatnot.
So as a last resort, I have turned to the mass of gentle, natural products "prescribed" by Dr. S. last time. I hope she knows what she's talking about. :-)

I hope you feel better!
And, if you need to rest, don't make the mistake of going in to work anyway. Everything will be there when you return. Listen to your body, when you are sick, you need rest more than anything!!
To your good health ~ Josephine
