sister act

I've long felt an unfortunately wide chasm between me and my sister. We're really, really different -- so different that sometimes I'm at a complete loss to understand her at all. These days we bond pretty well over the fact that we both love her kids, but soulmates we're not.

For Mother's Day, her husband and the kids put together an adorable poster entitled "Why we love Mommy." So she made some posters, too, about why she loves each one of them, and all of these li'l tokens of love are hanging up on the dining room wall.

Here’s the one she made for her husband:
I love you, (Husband):
1.) Because you made me a mommy!
2.) I love to relax with you!
3.) You make me laugh.
4.) We agree on the important stuff.
5.) You’re a great dad!
6.) I know what you’re thinking.
7.) You’re my best friend!

And when I saw that I thought, huh. Maybe we’re not so very different after all.
