I just spent two hours scraping and scouring and fizzing our industrial-strength oven. Several observations:
- This clearly hasn't been done in a while. Perhaps a century or so.
- Contrary to my initial belief, this is indeed not a cast-iron stove, but a steel one. Shiny!
- I think I can feel each individual finger muscle now.
- Vinegar and baking soda make a very environmentally-friendly, non-toxic and fizzy oven cleaner.
- Why does the tray underneath the burners smell a lot like fish, when we only really cook vegetarian?
- Goop! Sludge! Grime! Grunge! Which I suppose makes me the Queen of Slime, the Queen of Filth, the Queen of Putrescence. Aw yeah.
