snapshot

I like lists - good ones can provide a concise little snapshot of reality. So here's the list that's been on my mind today: a random sampling of past and current professions of some of my roommates.

- Special Ed teacher
- Apprentice street hustler, furniture designer, retiree at age 30 (apparently furniture design can pay the big bucks), furniture refinisher for fun
- High-school dropout and today, a college graduate with honors
- Feminist porn shop co-proprietor, "science" (as in, "when I die, I want to donate my eyes to science")
- College student majoring in anthropology and English, with some nursing classes on the side
- Social worker and part-time record store employee
- Self-employed artist, construction worker
- Grad student writing on the cultural history of car radio
- Massage therapy student and creator of organic bath products
- Office temp worker and aspiring novelist
- Children's librarian and pre-school classroom assistant
- Still supported by Mom, exploring future directions

That's how my life looks right now. I think I'm pretty lucky.
