Meta! and more!

Time for some housekeeping here at What, You Too? (Announcements, announcements, announcements, anno-ouncements!)

First, if you will kindly direct your attention to the attractive leftmost column of this page, you will see that there a grand total of 22 links to other blogs, several of which I have thus far neglected to introduce to you. And so I shall. Right now. Pay attention!

See that one? [formerly free...]? That's ricegirl, who's teaching English in... let's call it Tajikistan, since she does. She's on a long Christmas vacation now, so the updates are more seldom, but there's plenty of archivy goodness to dig through at will untill she comes back to fill us with more of her often hilarious and definitely uncensored opinions on life in the East!

And then we have Bridget at infinite space, who, after a sojourn in Deutschland, has taken on the responsibility of educating young Minnesotan minds... auf Deutsch. Join her on her fascinating bilingual adventure. (Currently, though, she's ill... so stop by and leave her a non-contagious e-hug.)

Caspian at -plash- is not an entirely new link. He used to be housed elsewhere, but for interests of increased anonymity, he's moved to this new and improved location, complete with initials! and pseudonyms! and witty, cryptic personal descriptions! The writing's great as always, of course. (And there's definitely something to be said for having an un-google-able blog.)

Soleil at Rambling with Isha is a passionate teacher and apparently in possession of the World's Greatest Husband, Mikey. Her blog - and her mind- are full of tiny, fascinating details and lovely quotes.

Last but not least... I present to you Arabella at Trattoria Breve. About half the time, I leave her blog laughing out loud; the other times I'm pondering a new thought and making lists of my own. Arabella belongs squarely in the category of New York Interesting in my head, and is not afraid to say it like it is, even when it involves bodily fluids.

And my computer works again! After nine weeks!!! And as icing on the cake... my laptop now has internet access at home, too. The possibilities for increased laziness are infinite. In fact, on Saturday at 2:30 pm I was sitting in my bed with my pajamas on. In that situation, there's really no good reason to get up. I have everything I need. :-)

In other housekeeping news... inspired by Caspian, I decided to post some older stuff to my blog. Thus I welcome you to check out my "Letters home" (and other thoughts) series, which can be found in the monthly archives between December 2002 and May 2004. These posts chronicle my intense, often tumultuous first two years in this esteemed land, in the form of letters I wrote home to family and friends, and some personal journal entries that have never before seen the light of cyberspace.

Hmm... it may be time to anonymize myself a bit more, too.

Jessica, you are a sweetheart! Thank you so much for the lovely recommendation.

You were one of the very first people who commented on my blog, and you provided me with some much-needed encouragement. I'm so glad we've gotten a chance to "read" each other!
