In some ways, today was my first "real" day in my new Chicago-style life. I'm all moved in, I'm back from vacation, and today I went to work. It was... kind of underwhelming.
There was the commute, for one thing. It felt long. I watched the gas gauge dip lower and lower and realized I still need to get a library card and take out some audiobooks. I'm not a huge fan of commuting, but hopefully I can avoid traffic jams by coming in early and finding things to do in Hyde Park until the evening rush hour is over (hooray for choir practice and organ committee meetings!).
Work was kinda boring, too. I had one meeting and spent the rest of the day alternately working on actual work projects and seeing what the critics had to say about Dr. Horrible's debut.
And then when I got home, there was no one in the apartment but me and two sleeping cats. Until three weeks ago, I had 15 two-legged and 7 four-legged roommates. I hardly know what to do with myself when there's no one talking to or barking at me. It was completely disconcerting and kinda sad. I need to join some more activities, I think.

there is an organ committee?
right now (after an incredibly long council meeting - which is rare), that makes me shutter.
i'm glad you statused about Dr. Horrible....because of you I watched it last night before it went off the air.
loved it! so, thanks.
Yeah, and it's even a *fundraising* committee for a new organ. I think very few people would get excited about that, but it seems like a pretty healthy committee, from what I can tell. :-)
I'm glad you got to watch Dr. Horrible. I can't wait for the DVD to come out -- apparently it has a commentary, and the commentary is a musical too! Will the fun never end?
