Surprise!

I was display staff at a conference (a synod assembly, for those in the know) last weekend, expecting only to chat up a bunch of strangers and be a good ambassador for my school. Instead, what should I find but...three of my old college friends who are pastors and serving in this area! They have grown up into incredible women and great pastors, and I'm proud of them. Also, they're fun. We went to a bar and laughed until we cried, about everything and nothing, and it was lovely and healing and fun.

Now I'm very curious about who those people were...

You probably laughed about how you tried to trick me into think that dinosaurs are fossil fuels, instead of loving and cuddly indoor pets.

that's supposed to be "thinking" not "think"... See how upset you've made me with your bizarre scientific claims?

Joannie,
It was Kristin Wendland, Liz Albertson and Liberty Lausterer. They're all still awesome. :-)

Bleeet... Bwa ha hahahaha! *laughs evilly* My bizarre brainwashing techniques are working. First step is always: confuse the subject!

Huh. And there that small world thing goes again...I know Liberty (from 1st call stuff).

Are you by chance going to be in Chi-town this weekend for another such "conference?" I'll be there Saturday to watch some others to whom we're both connected be "bopped."

Fun! I don't remember Liberty though. Was she in Faith Alive?

Jess--anything interesting happen at the synod assembly? (Or was the community the best part of it?)

Bleeet--if you're reading this far, I should come out of the closet. You know me on Jess' blog as Penelope (the one who connected the two of you). You know me on your blog as the axe-concealing graduate student in Chicago who is friends with tromvestite's wife and whose ex-boyfriend shares hot wings with Jesus. Since you said on Jess' blog that I'm your second-favorite Penelope, I'm wondering if you would officially declare me on your blog to be your second-favorite Elizabeth. You owe it to me: for reading all 366 plays, for leaving all those witty comments about clowns; for forwarding links to your blog to my friends.

Good God! You dissembling creature!

How was I to know you had more than one friend and that, somehow, you had constructed a sinister "web" of connections between these duo-farious folks?!

Penelope!?

Elizabeth!?

Which is it?! Damnit woman! Don't make me swear so much on someone else's blog.

Second-favorite Elizabeth, huh? After pulling a dirty trick like that?

Do you know how many Elizabeths I know?

No?

Me either... but it's got to be somewhere in the single digits.

But, if you actually read all 366 plays... Wow! I owe you one. I don't think even I read all 366 plays.

Let me ponder your duo-tiple identities and your "favorite Elizabeth" status, and I'll make a judgment on my blog which will be arbitrary, ill-informed and fully binding.

Well, Bleeet, I just want you to know that for the sake of honesty, I blew my cover on this blog. Now everyone knows that I'm really Elizabeth.

Err, unless, ummmm, I'm really Penelope and not Elizabeth. Yeah, that's my story and I'm sticking with it!

Most entertaining (though completely indecipherable) comments, ever.
