Hmm. I appear to be neglecting this blog in a major way. Oddly enough, some of you are still checking in regularly, and you know how much I hate to disappoint, so here it is: my lame-ass attempt to summarize the last two months or so.
So I last posted November 29th. That's nearly two months ago. Here are some turn-of-the-annum highlights:
- First, some shameless product placement: one of our board members sent us a Christmas care package of these amazing brownies. Forget sending flowers, people; say it with brownies! They are the yummiest brownies ever*, and I can pronounce all of the ingredients.
- I had a lovely sinus infection for a long while. Somehow I managed to ward off the worst of it until Christmas Eve, which was actually pretty good timing as it meant that I had 10 work-free days in which to not really get out of bed at all except to forage and excrete. Awesome. Maybe not as productive or social a vacation as I had hoped, but really, really relaxing. Coincidentally, I also have some new favorite TV shows: How I Met Your Mother, Heroes, and Freaks and Geeks (a one-season wonder). I am happy to report that after 6 weeks or so of inflamed throatiness, I am now an actual soprano again (or close enough, anyway). So I can stop feeling like a poser in choir. On another note, I really don't think my bed is all that comfortable.
- In the midst of the sniffling and nose-blowing, I did manage to have a lovely week in Minnesota, in which I somehow managed to not call up anyone I wasn't related to. This will be remedied next time I'm in town.
- Work has been OK - I ameliorated some of my major overwhelmedness by hiring a student worker who rocks. Yay! I'm workin' my Wisconsin mojo lately, but it would be better if I could clone myself and send the MiniMes off to Philadelphia, Rockford, San Juan, LaCrosse and Poughkeepsie while LifeSizedMe wows Green Bay. Barring immediate scientific breakthroughs, however, it looks like it's just the one me for a while, so I'll have to prioritize.
- Church has been fun. The organ task force is a consistent highlight (no, seriously), and we are progressing toward a very exciting goal. I'm joining the social ministry committee, and trying to connect us more with other South-Side congregations. That should be extremely eye-opening, and maybe also fun. Also, we just had the most amazing annual meeting ever. Hooray for healthy system dynamics. And the Holy Spirit.
- And speaking of church, it looks like my life is now progressing inevitably toward a change of roster. I don't think I'm bowing to peer pressure, but rather following a call - both internal and external - to word and sacrament minsitry. But it'll be a longish road... I'll be here for a couple more years before I make any bold moves.
- In conclusion, this blog has officially become an afterthought. If you want to hear from/about me regularly, just join Facebook, people!
*This is a highly scientific and objectively verified statement.

My favorite brownies are the Ghiradelli Double Chocolate brownies that you can get at the grocery store. Mmmm mmmm good!
Just a few dollars and an hour and you'll have the most amazing brownies ever!
So good to read you back here....so many things I'd love to comment on.
The most though - hope to see you as you drive w/in miles of me one of these days.
Why, thanks for the compliment! I'd like to think my (now former...) boss rocks, too!
